From catwalk to wardrobe: 8 under-£50 fashion buys set to revitalise your outfits this spring
2 days ago
From NY to Paris, the s/s 2025 catwalks served all the looks – recreate your favourite luxe moments with these high street spring items which are all under £50…
Last year, my most complimented outfit was an elevated denim co-ord I’ve recycled on a weekly basis.
The shock on people’s faces when I tell them it is, in fact, a high street steal and not attached to an eye-watering price tag, brought me possibly even more joy than wearing the outfit itself.
Taking inspiration from the catwalk big hitters when hunting the high street is a great way to ensure you’re curating a wardrobe you’ll love to rewear all year round.
So, look no further than our under-£50, bank account-friendly fashion buys of the spring – and get ready to bat away those compliments…
1. The boho chic maxi dress
From the moment Chemena Kamali showed her first Chloé collection in February last year, bohemia officially flounced onto the fashion set’s radar again.
There’s nothing free-spirited about the price tag of luxury boho chic, so I’m turning to this affordable high street option from Tu.
At just £35, with plenty of romance to boot, we’ll be toughening up this fluttery piece with a studded belt and distressed faux leather moto jacket.
2. The cream lace skirt
Inspired both by street style at fashion weeks and a regular feature of Victoriana designers such as Bora Aksu, lace is making a real statement this spring.
A lace skirt is the easy throw-on essential to elevate any outfit – best worn with a butter yellow knit or denim shirt. This lace midi skirt is just £28 – and is such a steal.
3 + 4. The suede co-ord
If you’ve glanced at the internet in 2025, you’ll have seen Kate Moss fronting Isabel Marant’s s/s 2025 ad in that burgundy suedette shirt. And now we all want a slice of the suede action.
Don’t just dip your toe into this trend – dive in head-first with a suede co-ord. This suede shirt is such a versatile staple, paired with denim or a matching suede mini skirt.
These two heroes from Tu are a high street dream: the shirt comes in at £22.50 and the skirt costs just £18.
5. The turn-up denim jeans
Denim heroes Agolde and Citizens Of Humanity have recently revamped their jean offering to bring four-inch turn-ups to our wardrobes.
Elevating the wide-leg, baggy styles that have dominated our lives in recent years, I’m obsessed with this new take on comfort-first denim.
At just £24, these turn-up jeans are a game-changer.
6. The fitted denim dress
It’s not just our jeans that are having an overhaul: this spring, denim dresses are in for a re-style.
Schiaparelli sent sculpted denim dresses down the catwalk – and now I want one for a fraction of the price, please and thank you.
At £30, this button-through, figure-hugging midi from Tu is a great high street choice.
7. The weave shoulder bag
Every fashion fan knows that it’s Bottega that brought the weave bag back into our lives and, since then, I’ve wanted one in every colour.
To help you decide which to shop this year, go for a tan colourway. With mocha mousse named Pantone’s colour of the year, and shades of brown dominating the street style set’s outfit rotations, this tan weave handbag (£18) is right on-trend.
8. The chunky buckled sandals
With Birks and fisherman sandals topping trends lists for summer 2025, I’m predicting the return of the uber-cool, functional sandal.
These are a fraction of the cost of designer offerings (at just £20) and are the perfect city break stompers.
