Subscription Terms and Conditions
These terms and conditions apply to all purchases you make from The Stylist Group Limited (“Stylist”, “we” or “us”). A “subscription” is an arrangement between you and us for you to receive products and/or services from us in exchange for regular payments in advance. The products and/or services can include:
- Stylist+: this is a digital-only subscription, which means that you will receive access to the digital edition of the Stylist magazine, plus access to exclusive content on the Stylist website and a weekly email newsletter.
- Stylist VIP: this provides you with all of the benefits of the Stylist Extra subscription plus: a printed copy of the magazine delivered monthly; access to exclusive events; free beauty samples and exclusive discounts to your inbox.
If you do not agree to these terms and conditions, please do not proceed with the purchase of a Subscription.
- You can find everything you need to know about Stylist and our products on our website before you order. We also confirm the key information to you in writing after you order in your confirmation email.
- You must be 18 years of age or over to purchase a subscription.
- Any restrictions on delivery locations are as stated on the Stylist website or in these terms and conditions.
- We will contact you to confirm we’ve accepted your order via your confirmation email. Sometimes we reject orders, for example, because a product is unexpectedly unavailable because you are located outside the UK or because the product was mispriced by us. When this happens, we let you know as soon as possible and refund any sums you have paid.
- The costs of delivery (if applicable) will be as stated on the Stylist website.
- If our supply of your product is delayed by an event outside our control, we contact you as soon as possible to let you know and do what we can to reduce the delay. As long as we do this, we won’t compensate you for the delay, but if the delay is likely to be substantial you can contact our Customer Service Team: https://www.stylist.co.uk/about/contact-us to end the contract and receive a refund for any products you have paid for in advance, but not received, less reasonable costs we have already incurred.
- You acknowledge that you are responsible for keeping your username and password for the Stylist website confidential. We are not responsible for the misuse of your username or password by any third party, whether or not authorised by you. You agree to immediately notify us upon becoming aware of any actual or suspected use of your details on the Stylist website or any other breach of security. We are not liable for any loss or damage resulting from unauthorised use of your details.
- Any free gifts offered when you purchase a Subscription are subject to availability. Where we offer you a gift with the purchase of a Subscription, every effort will be made to supply the gift illustrated but we reserve the right to provide an alternative gift if we cannot supply the original for any reason.
- Beauty samples are subject to availability and may be substituted at our discretion for an alternative gift. Beauty samples are provided by our third-party supplier So-Post and we will share your name and delivery address with So-Post for the purposes of delivering your samples.
- Our policy, unless indicated otherwise, is that any beauty sample or other free gift will be sent to the recipient of the Subscription.
- From time to time we may offer special offers or temporary promotions for our subscriptions which may either be published on the Stylist website, on other digital platforms, or in our publications. These may be subject to additional terms and conditions which we will let you know about in those offers.
- If there is an issue processing your Subscription, or if your magazine is returned as undelivered, we will use reasonable endeavours to contact you to try to ensure you receive an uninterrupted service.
- We process your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Notice available at https://www.stylist.co.uk/about/privacy-policy
Payment and Renewals
- Unless otherwise stated on the Stylist website, your initial payment is taken at the time of your order.
- Charges are as set out at the time of your order. If we change the Subscription price (which we may do at any time), we will notify you of the change and will give you the opportunity to cancel your subscription before the next payment is taken.
- All prices stated are inclusive of VAT. If the rate of VAT changes between your order date and the date we supply the product, we adjust the rate of VAT that you pay, unless you have already paid in full before the change in the rate of VAT takes effect.
- Your subscription contract will automatically renew at the end of each subscription term, and you will be informed of your subscription term at the time of purchasing your Subscription and in your confirmation email.
- You may cancel your Subscription at any time. Your access and benefits under your Subscription will continue until the end of your current subscription period.
- You can cancel via your MyStylist Account or by contacting our customer service team https://www.stylist.co.uk/about/contact-us
- If you choose to cancel early, please note that we will not refund any unused portion of your subscription. Your access to the benefits under your subscription will continue until the end of the current subscription period and no further payments will be taken.
Events
- Some of our subscription products include the opportunity to register to attend our events. These events will be advertised on the Stylist website and/or in emails sent to applicable subscribers.
- Please note that availability for events is limited and registration is on a first come first served basis. We cannot accept responsibility in the event that you are unable to register for an over-subscribed event.

- Registration for events is subject to the event booking terms that apply to that event.
- You acknowledge that we may (at our sole discretion) change the date, format, speakers, participants, content, venue location and programme or any other aspect of the planned event at any time and for any reason, whether or not due to a force majeure event, in each case without liability.
- Where the event is Online, you shall comply with any additional terms or policies in relation to content you choose to share. Online events may be hosted on a third-party website or app, and you should ensure you comply with any third-party website or app terms and conditions that may govern your use.
- Where the event is In-person, the owner of the venue (the “Venue Manager”) may specify additional terms or conditions with which you must comply. The Venue Manager reserves the right to refuse admission to the event venue in reasonable circumstances including for health and safety and/or licensing reasons or where we deem (acting reasonably) that your ticket is void.
- By attending an event, you acknowledge that your image and voice may be photographed, filmed and recorded. We may use such filming and recordings without further notice or payment to you.
Changes and Cancellations
- If you have purchased a Stylist Extra subscription, you acknowledge that this is a digital only subscription and confirm that you agree to such Subscription starting immediately on the conclusion of the contract. You acknowledge and agree that once any part of the Subscription has been delivered or made available to you, you waive any statutory or “cool off” cancellation rights you may have to cancel the contract and obtain a full refund if you change your mind.
- If you have purchased a Stylist VIP subscription, you have 14 days after the date when you receive the first issue of Stylist to change your mind and cancel the Subscription. If you wish to cancel, please contact our customer service team https://www.stylist.co.uk/about/contact-us. If you cancel within this period, we will issue your refund within 14 days of your notification of cancellation using the payment method that you used to make your initial payment. Please note that when you cancel your subscription within the periods set out above, your access to any digital services provided as part of your subscription or other benefits will cease immediately. We don’t refund any extra you have paid for express delivery or delivery at a particular time.
- We can always change a product (a) to reflect changes in relevant laws and regulatory requirements; (b) to implement minor technical adjustments and improvements, for example to address a security threat, and these are changes that don’t affect your use of the product; and (c) to update digital content, provided that the digital content always matches the description of it that we provided to you before you bought it. We might ask you to install these updates to ensure continued access to your Subscription benefits.
- For all other changes to your Subscription, we will provide you with at least 30 days’ notice and an option to terminate the contract if you are unhappy with the changes.
- We can suspend the supply of a product to (a) deal with technical problems or make minor technical changes; (b) deal with circumstances outside our control; (c) protect the interests of innocent third parties; (d) update the product to reflect changes in relevant laws and regulatory requirements; or (e) make enhancements to the product. We will contact you in advance to tell you we’re suspending supply unless the problem is urgent or an emergency.
- We can stop providing a subscription product at any time and at our discretion. We let you know at least 30 days in advance and we refund any sums you’ve paid in advance for products or services which won’t be provided.
- We can end our contract with you and stop providing the subscription if (a) you don’t make any payment to us when it’s due and you still don’t make payment within 14 days of our reminding you that payment is due; or (b) you don’t, within a reasonable time of us asking for it, provide us with information, cooperation or access that we need to provide the subscription.
Liability

Nothing in these terms and conditions shall limit or exclude our liability to you for death or personal injury caused by our negligence or for fraudulent misrepresentation or any other liability that may not, under English law, be limited or excluded.
- Subject to this, in no event shall we be liable to you for any business losses and any liability we do have for losses you suffer arising from any contract shall not exceed the purchase price of the relevant subscriptions and is strictly limited to losses that were reasonably foreseeable. Losses are foreseeable where they could be contemplated by you and us at the time your order is accepted by us.
- We shall not be obliged to perform our obligations under this agreement to the extent that we are prevented, hindered or delayed by reason of ‘Force Majeure’ which shall mean any cause or event beyond our reasonable control and including: war, civil war, armed conflict, terrorist attack, riot, civil commotion, malicious damage; compliance with any law or governmental order, strikes, or other industrial disputes, accidents, explosions, breakdowns of plant or machinery, failure of transport links, failure of telecoms links, unavailability of the internet or any utility, fire, flood, storm or adverse weather conditions, epidemic or pandemic, acts of God or failure to perform by our suppliers or sub-contractors.
- Our liability to you arising under or in connection with these subscription terms or arising from or in connection with any breach or non-performance of these subscription terms no matter how fundamental (including by reason of our negligence) in contract, tort or otherwise in relation to any issue shall be limited to the fees you have paid to us for that issue.
General

You may not assign, sub-license or otherwise transfer any of your rights under these terms and conditions. We may assign these terms and conditions or any rights hereunder without your consent or notice.
- These terms and conditions shall be governed by English law, and you agree that any dispute between us regarding them or the Site will only be dealt with by the English courts, provided that, if you are a consumer and not a business user and live in a part of the United Kingdom other than England, the applicable law of that part of the United Kingdom will govern and any dispute will only be dealt with by the courts there.
