Primark’s collection of a/w staples – elegantly titled The Edit – is here, and we’re talking high fashion-inspired, affordable must-haves. Here are our fave pieces…
Layering season has arrived and Primark’s new collection of elevated autumnal staples has landed just in time to get us excited about the endless styling possibilities of the season.
Here are our favourites from the layer-up-and-go collection…
1. The blue shirt
Every wardrobe needs an oversized shirt – it’s a must-have layering piece you’ll be turning to time and again.
To nail a/w 2023 dressing, style with sunnies, 90s baggy jeans and ballet flats.
2. The bomber jacket
Bomber jackets are everywhere right now but if you’re looking for a high fashion-esque twist on the style, take this textured, bouclé bomber to elevate a trend to timeless status.
3. The cream knit
This super-affordable merino wool, viscose blend knit in oatmeal can be layered in so many ways for the season ahead.
Style with a denim midi skirt and an Afghan coat to channel the 70s.
4. The slouchy blazer
Throw a blazer over the most basic of outfits – a white tee and jeans, or even a jumper and your workout leggings – and you’ll look like you’ve planned the outfit. Sneaky.
This grey blazer has a relaxed silhouette which is perfect for all the a/w layering.
5. The knit dress
A throw-on-and-go staple, this grey jumper dress has comfort-first dressing front of mind.
Made with a ribbed texture in a stretch knit fabric, it looks just as chic paired with a trench and chunky trainers as it does with an oversized faux-leather jacket and heeled boots.
6. The striped tee
Stripes are a forever trend and this T-shirt made with sustainable viscose is an all-seasons staple.
Layer with a V-neck sweater vest and wide-leg trews for autumn dressing done right.
7. The wide-leg trousers
Autumn calls for 70s-inspired dressing, and these cotton denim trousers make a sartorial statement.
High-waisted with a wide-leg silhouette, roomy pockets and cuffed ankles to boot, these are the perfect dressed-up jeans.
8. The longline trench
Cool grey puts a spin on the deluge of beige trench coats that bustle into the Tube on the morning commute.
We’re obsessed with this elevated take on autumnal outerwear.
9. The waistcoat
Nothing says ‘cool girl era’ like a waistcoat and this dark grey option looks great as the focal point of any a/w look.
Play with silhouettes and style this tailored piece with a floaty skirt, satin maxi or flared trousers.
10. The oversized jumper
When it comes to knitwear, it’s the attention to detail that makes the perfect piece.
With a V neckline, laid-back fit and chunky, ribbed cuffs, this taupe jumper is the ideal chic throw-on for the colder months.
11. The maxi dress
This loose-fit maxi dress with cascading, bell sleeves in a bold autumnal print drapes perfectly for an easy-breezy silhouette.
Dress with heeled boots and gold hoops for a put-together take on cosy dressing.
12. The wool blend coat
A great winter coat that doesn’t break the bank is not easy to find and this charcoal wool blend piece is a minimalist’s dream: it’ll go with anything and everything, and you’ll be reaching for it for years to come.
