But the world of true crime often means the muting of female victims’ voices.

That’s why your latest fix is turning the genre on its head: English National Opera (ENO) are putting on a new production called Jack the Ripper: The Women of Whitechapel.

Telling the story of a group of disadvantaged women who are drawn together in their determination to survive, this new opera gives a voice for the first time to the victims of Jack the Ripper.

The world premiere at the London Coliseum is bound to be quite the night.

Seating 2,359 people, the London Coliseum is an incredibly historic venue, and the perfect setting for a show with talent like Dame Josephine Barstow, Susan Bullock and Lesley Garrett, as well as the full ENO Orchestra and Chorus.
