Why Stylist will be joining the #March4Women rally in London this Sunday

We’re marching to Trafalgar Square to stand up for equal rights for people of all genders – and we want you to join us.

Whatever plans you already had for Sunday 4 March, it’s time to reschedule them. Because, in the suffragette spirit of ‘Deeds Not Words’, Stylist wants you and your friends to join us at Care International’s sixth annual #March4Women rally.

With a huge 5,000 attendees last year, this year’s event promises to be bigger than ever as it celebrates the centenary of the first British women gaining the right to vote – as well as International Women’s Day, which falls next Thursday.

The march is a chance to stand up for equal rights for people of all genders, the right to speak out and be heard, the right to work free of harassment and abuse and the right of every woman and girl around the world to “live, learn and earn” with safety, dignity and respect.

As an official media partner of the #March4Women, the Stylist team will be out in force, joining the likes of rally host Sue Perkins, Mayor of London Sadiq Khan and Helen Pankhurst (the consulting editor on our Suffragette issue).

Other influential faces making an appearance will include human rights activist Bianca Jagger, Women’s March London co-organiser Shola Mos-Shogbamimu, Women’s Equality Party co-founder Sandi Toksvig and Faeeza Vaid of the Muslim Women’s Network

The march isn’t just for women – it’s an opportunity for everyone to come together to stand up for a more equal world, so tell your dad, your brothers, your mates and your colleagues.

As well as inspirational speakers, there will be musical acts including Sophie Ellis Bextor and a choir singing old-school feminist anthems, poetry by Salena Godden and an extract from forthcoming musical Sylvia, which opens at The Old Vic in September.

We’d love to see you there – but if you can’t make the march, you’ll be able to follow along with our rolling liveblog from the event

We’ll also be sharing the most inspirational speeches and signs from the march on stylist.co.uk, and posting live updates on our Twitter and Instagram feeds using the hashtag #March4Women – so stay tuned to keep up with all the action.

To top it all, Stylist is filming a behind-the-scenes documentary about the making of the rally, which you’ll be able to watch via our Facebook page on Monday 5 March.

Whatever you do, don’t miss out on making your voice heard at this incredible event.
