By now, we've seen a few less-than-conventional crash pads listed on Airbnb - first there was the house floating on the Thames, and then an igloo in a Brooklyn back garden, but now there's a room for rent to top them both: the Netflix and Chill room.
The £288 a night listing is the spare room of New York roommates Alyssa and Moises, who collaborated with their advertiser friend Tom on the project.
Their Manhattan crash pad has been meticulously decked out with everything you could possibly need to bring the internet meme to life, including a custom-made 'Netflix' slogan bedspread, a laptop and HD projector to stream your preferred binge-watch show, and a champagne and spirit stocked fridge. Apparently the apartment also boasts a beautiful view of the city from its rooftop - if you can tear yourself away from 'the original Netflix and chill bed', that is.
Tom told Mashable of the idea:
"We loved the idea of bringing a meme to life and offering it as a real experience. The Netflix and Chill meme sort of naturally came up as the right subject to build a project around, and the idea grew automatically from there."
Though the trio aren't expecting guests to write-off an entire trip to Netflix and Chill - you can only rent the room for Saturday night stays. And in the small print, the owners are keen to stress this is strictly a room for couples: 'this room is an exclusive experience for 2 people only.'
We're not sure a trip to the West Village just to Netflix and Chill is worth the 3,500 mile journey, but perhaps that's just us.
