Have you left feeling festive until the last minute? Here are the best and brightest Christmas trees to visit in London that are (almost) guaranteed to fill you with merriment.
While there’s no shortage of fun-filled events to book, there is one thing London does better than anything else at this time of year: Christmas decorations. One quick glance at the glittering Harrods building, a walk along Bond Street or a trip to Kew Gardens is enough to make even the grinchiest among us start to get the festive buzz.
But the city’s most remarkable offering is its trees. Every year, gigantic firs pop up everywhere from Trafalgar Square to the most iconic of hotels, transforming each concrete square into a miniature yet magical wonderland.
From luxury to glitzy, and everything in between, here’s a rundown of London’s loveliest Christmas trees for the 2023 season.
Covent Garden Christmas tree
You can listen to Christmas carolers, finish your gift shopping and take in the sparkling 60-foot tree all at the city’s iconic Covent Garden market. Trust us: it really doesn’t get more festive than here.
Address: The Piazza, London WC2E 8RF
Trafalgar Square Christmas tree
Ever since 1942, a towering spruce has been given as an annual gift to the people of Britain by Norway. You can visit the 2023 tree until just before the Twelfth Night of Christmas (6 January).
