A night in a cottage made entirely of chocolate? Sign us up.
Thanks to Roald Dahl, we’ve long dreamed of entering a world made entirely out of chocolate. As it turns out, though, it’s 2018 and anything is possible: why waste time dreaming when you can spend a weekend in an edible cocoa cottage, eh?
That’s right: just like Willy Wonka and Charlie Bucket, you can experience a sugary-sweet experience straight out of a fairytale… and it will only cost you €50 (£45).
Designed by chocolatier Jean-Luc Decluzeau, the cottage is made entirely of chocolate – 1.5 tons of chocolate in fact. And you, along with up to four friends, can spend a night in it.
Located in the glass house L’Orangerie Ephémère in the gardens of the Cité de la Céramique in Sèvres in France, guests will also be able to take part in a workshop with Decluzeau where you’ll learn how to craft personalised mini chocolate chalets (oh la la!).
And the best part? Some of the parts you can actually munch your way through. The cottage walls, roof, dresser, clock, cups, books, chandelier – and even fireplace – will all be immortalised in chocolate. Outside, a white chocolate duck pond and chocolate flowerbed are also on display.
Essentially, it is as close as we will all come to winning a Golden Ticket.
If you want to stay in this chocolatey cottage, though, you had best be quick: after guests have enjoyed staying there, the delicious structure will go on display in the Parisian chocolate museum, Choco Story.
It’s 2018, and sweet dreams really are made of sugar, spice … and chocolate fixtures. Fancy it? You can book a stay here.
