It was located on Maple Lake in Illinois and built for the film. Sadly, the production team had to leave the location exactly as it had been when they arrived - meaning the house was demolished.

The character Jackie Treehorn's impressive home is actually located in Beverly Hills and was also used for Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle and a Snoop Dogg video. The Crudstaff mansion featured in the 2012 film is a Victorian former bed-and-breakfast in Atlanta, and this year, sold for $425,000 (£266,000) - over $1million below its last appraisal, according to frontdoor.com.
