Obsessed with the hit BBC show’s breathtaking setting? Well you’re in luck, because, while you can’t stay in the exact same place they filmed, there are plenty of actual Scottish castles you can book for your next mini-break

Season 2 of bona fide pop culture sensation The Traitors is brightening up our January TV viewing, and we couldn’t be happier about it. We need something to help get us through the rest of winter, after all.

The UK and US versions of the show have been filmed in and around the gorgeous Ardross Castle in the Scottish Highlands, and we don’t know about you, but it’s given us the travel bug. However, while you can get married in the castle, or use it as a conference venue, it’s sadly not available for booking a casual mini-break.

But do not despair, because your castle stay dreams can still come true. Airbnb has put together its most-wishlisted Scottish castle and manor house stays for you to peruse. Just don’t go murdering anyone…

Kilbryde Castle, Stirling

Kilbryde Castle, Central Scotland, has lush gardens that are available for guests to wander around freely, but are only open to the general public once a year.

Scone Palace, Perth and Kinross

The crowning place of the Kings of Scots, Scone Palace has an amazing collection of antiques, paintings and rare artefacts to explore.

The Mansion House, Clackmannanshire

This fully modernised Victorian Mansion was built in 1889 and is in a perfect location for exploring the beautiful scenery of central Scotland.

Cats Castle, Argyll and Bute

Cats Castle, which was built in 1888, is nestled on two acres of land and offers stunning river views down the Firth of Clyde.

Cambo, Fife

This impressive Victorian mansion house, built in 1881, lies at the heart of a 1,200 acre estate in one of the most unspoiled areas of Scotland.

St. Benedict's Abbey, Highlands

The abbey is set in 20 acres of beautiful garden grounds and surrounded on three sides by water, which extend right down to the shoreline of Loch Ness. Anybody up for some monster hunting?

Thornton Castle, Aberdeenshire

This castle dates all the way back to the 13th century, and guests can wander the picturesque large garden with its chickens and ducks.
