Worried about how to fill that X Factor shaped hole after this weekend’s final? Well rest easy, as the BBC have just announced the final judges line-up for their new talent show, The Voice
Set to hit our screens in 2012, the judging panel will comprise of Jessie J, Will.I.Am, Tom Jones and Danny O’Donoghue, from the Irish band The Script. With their vastly different musical backgrounds, it remains to be seen whether producers of The Voice have created a winning formula.
Already a hugely successful format in the United States, the reality show will follow contestants through a blind audition process, followed by a ‘battle phase’. Two members from each team will compete with another, singing the same song, to win a place in the live shows.
Speaking to The Daily Mail, Black Eyed Peas-singer Will.I.Am commented, “I’m proud to be doing The Voice UK because the UK was the first place I saw success. It’s the place I’m most creative [away from] home.”
With Holly Willoughby and Radio 1 DJ Reggie Yates confirmed as hosts, the talent show is pitted to be one of the biggest competitors to Simon Cowell’s lucrative X Factor franchise.
