Susan Sarandon has the perfect response to Piers Morgan’s body shaming tweets

What do you do when you’re a world famous Oscar-winning actor being trolled on social media by a sexist and out of touch journalist?

Do you reply to every tweet, explaining why his comments are completely absurd, offensive and, quite frankly, irrelevant? Or do you simply ignore it altogether?

This week, when Susan Sarandon dared to expose her cleavage at the SAG Awards, she was criticised and hounded on social media by men and women alike, but by one person in particular: television presenter and Daily Mail columnist, Piers Morgan.

Morgan’s vitriolic tweets included images of Sarandon calling her ‘tacky’, ‘inappropriate’ and ‘publicity-seeking’.

His comments and opinions around Sarandon’s outfit choice have continued all week, as he retweeted several people who disagreed with him, refusing to accept that his comments were ill-judged or offensive.

Morgan even tweeted to suggest that Sarandon wanted to be objectified when she wore the outfit - because, sure, objectification and embracing your feminine sexuality are the same thing.

The TV presenter then told feminists who stood up against his discriminatory comments to 'pipe down'.

The hashtags, #CleavageGate and #SagGate began doing the rounds.

Instead of feeling the need to defend herself against Morgan’s comments and stooping to his level of petty internet bickering, Sarandon responded simply with a throwback Thursday still of herself in only a bra from 1975's The Rocky Horror Picture Show, with the caption: "Today’s #TBT is dedicated to @piersmorgan."

And that's how it's done; absolute perfection.
