We're pledging to make real changes for women in sport with our Fair Game campaign. Here's how to get involved...
Fours weeks ago we joined with the Women’s Sport and Fitness Foundation, Barbara Keeley MP and Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson to ask the select committee for Culture, Media and Sport for a formal inquiry into the coverage of women’s sport in the UK. We were appalled when the select committee said it has no plans to hold an inquiry – so we’ve decided to create a petition calling for the state of women’s sport to be discussed in the House of Commons.
Here's what we're pledging to change:
- Only 5% of sports media coverage features women
- For every 53 articles written about sporting men, there is one about a woman
- Women’s sport receives only 0.5% of the total sponsorship income into sport (men get 62.1%)
- As 11-time Paralympic champion Lady Grey-Thompson states: “The media coverage [of women] is abysmal and the funding is abysmal”

We are aiming to collect 10,000 signatures in six months, so please help us spread the word by sharing the petition and tweeting “I demand a better deal for women in sport #fairgame".
