Serena Williams’ husband, Alexis Ohanian, dedicates four billboards outside California to her.
Sometimes flowers just won’t cut it – especially if you’re a woman who has everything.
Which is maybe why, Alexis Ohanian, took romance to whole new level by surprising his wife, Serena Williams, with four billboards featuring pictures of their young daughter, Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr., and the words, “Greatest Momma of All Time,” aka “G.M.O.A.T”.
Williams, who’s due to compete in the 2018 BNP Paribas Open next month, was surprised by the grand gesture on Tuesday 27 February as she travelled to Indian Wells for her tennis match, according to Us Weekly.
The Reddit co-founder then took to Twitter to share photos of the four billboards lining a Southern California highway.
“These just went up on alongside I-10 into Palm Springs. Olympia Ohanian and I wanted to welcome her back to tennis. Designed them myself, with some help from Jr. #GMOAT,” Ohanian wrote.
And, of course, Williams thanked him for the sweet surprise: “Literally am crying. This is so sweet. I love you.”
And people on social media have remained divided in opinion on the grand gesture.
“I’ve complained a number of times to friends about how wealthy people all seem to spend money on the same boring things. Expensive wines, silly country clubs, pointlessly extravagant decor. This is exactly the sort of thing wealthy people should be blowing their money on,” one user posted.
But other users think it’s a kind thing to do.
“You go boy!,” another user wrote.
“Husband of the year!,” another user wrote.
Williams is not only the greatest tennis player of all time, but the greatest mum too.
