Sarah Jessica Parker reveals what Carrie Bradshaw would actually be doing in 2019

It’s been over 20 years since Sex And The City first aired, but in 2019 we’re still wondering about Carrie Bradshaw.

Recently, we’ve been teased with the possibility of seeing Charlotte, Miranda, Samantha and Carrie appear together on the big screen once more. From rumours of a finished script and disagreements between cast members, sadly one thing now looks certain: Sex And The City 3 is not on its way.

But over the past week Carrie Bradshaw has made her way back into our lives. Wearing a gold lamé jacket and turquoise chiffon skirt – complete with diamond encrusted accessories – Sarah Jessica Parker slipped back into her most famous character for an advertisement for charity.

In the short clip, Bradshaw replaces her cosmopolitans with Stella Artois for a good cause.

Bradshaw muses: “I couldn’t help but wonder. Wasn’t it obvious? You make a little change to do a lot of good,” as a bus with the sign “one bottle = one month of clean water” drives by.

In another video, Bradshaw crosses paths with Jeff Bridges (reprising his role as The Dude from The Big Lebowski) in an advert for the latest Super Bowl, which sees the pair sipping on Stella Artois together.

But what would Bradshaw be really doing in 2019?

“Well,” Parker told E! News, “my guess is that she and Big are New Yorkers and still involved. I’m sure she’s still writing.

“I’m sure she has a lot to write about given what’s happened in this country over the last year and a half, two years, politically, socially. I think she would be deeply engaged in those conversations.”

Previously, there had been reports of Mr. Big being killed off in the script for the third film. A storyline that SJP admits would leave Bradshaw “devastated”.

“I think that she would still be a voracious reader and have maintained those friendships and I would hope that she and Big were enjoying their time together and still you know, in love,” she said.

“I think she would feel a great a loss in a partner and grateful for the time and memories they had. That would be my guess.”

She continued: “I can’t imagine her celebrating [Big’s death], that’s for sure… she might raise a Stella in his name, but I don’t know that she would be celebrating. Celebrate his life, yes. She would celebrate the life they lived, the time they had, memories shared, and yes raise the Stella and pour it forward.”

Stella Artois’s partnership with Water.org (co-founded by actor Matt Damon) for the Pour it Forward campaign aims to end the global water crisis by donating a month of clean water access to communities in need.

Time to watch the entire SATC series again? OK.
