It was one year today since Meghan Markle wore a classic Givenchy gown and walked herself part-way down the aisle to marry Prince Harry at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle. 

Now the new parents have taken a break from baby business (or at least their media relations people have) in order to mark the special occasion on Instagram.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex celebrated their one-year anniversary with a behind-the-scenes video of their wedding day, including some previously unseen photos. 

Set to the tune of This Little Light of Mine, which was played as the couple left the chapel after getting wed, Harry and Meghan dedicate the video to “all of the love and support from so many”.

“Each of you made this day even more meaningful,” they say.

The slideshow of 14 photos is mostly in black and white. Taken by photographer Chris Allerton, it includes a previously unseen snap in which Meghan is pictured holding hands with her mum, Doria Ragland.

Another sweet moment captures Prince Harry and Prince William walking down a flight of stairs together, alongside a photo of Prince Harry looking as if he is hitching a lift from the royal convoy.

The video is yet another sign of the way in which Harry and Meghan are distancing themselves from ridged royal protocol of years gone by. 

The montage is conspicuous for its lack of formality, with an intimate, relaxed feel translated via the selection of mostly incidental (rather than posed) glimpses of the day.

Oprah Winfrey, Serena Williams and Amal and George Clooney were among celebrity guests who attended the couple’s wedding last year. 

Earlier this month, Meghan and Harry shared an Instagram photo of their newborn baby son, Archie, being introduced to the Queen. Their wedding photographer Allerton was again present to capture the occasion.
