According to Pink, there is a secret Christina Aguilera duet already in existence, much to the delight of 90s fans the world over.

When Pink was accused of “cringing” in response to Christina Aguilera’s performance at the American Music Awards last month, she was having none of it.

She quickly shut down the rumours, saying that she thinks Aguilera is “incredible”.

And now she has revealed that the pair have even recorded a duet together for Aguilera’s upcoming album – but it’s yet to receive an official release date.

“We did a duet for her album and I don’t know when it’s coming out but it’s amazing,” Pink told The Sun.

“We did it two years ago so I don’t remember the title, but she’s incredible.”

Pink was captured on camera appearing to grimace in the audience of the awards show (19 November) while Aguilera was performing a moving tribute to Whitney Houston on stage, although video footage later showed her seeming to look impressed and moved by the performance.

The screenshot quickly went viral, in part because Pink and Christina have a notoriously turbulent history – Pink has previously described how the pair clashed 16 years ago during the recording of the single Lady Marmalade for the film Moulin Rouge.

Pink later reported that Aguilera had even tried to punch her at the time. “We were super young and super new at the whole thing, and I think I’m an alpha, and she’s an alpha,” Pink said of the 2001 incident.

“I’m used to taking my altercations physical and she’s used to having them verbal. She swung at me in a club. Hilarious! I was like, ‘What’s happening right now? What’s happening?’”

But she has stated numerous times that they now support each other, and was quick to bring an end to recent speculation.

Writing on Twitter after the AMAs, she said: “Christina f*ing killed it tonight for one of our favorite singers ever. This about Whitney, and I am in awe of Christina’s talent.”

She followed that by pointing out that many seem to take a peculiar kind of joy from pitting women against women, saying that she supports Aguilera fully: “You all perpetuate keeping women apart [because] you’re afraid of the power we have when we get together.”

Now that that’s cleared up, we’d very much like to hear this duet please. We didn’t even know we’d been waiting two years already…
