Jazz hands at the ready as Gwyneth, Cameron, Reese and Beyoncé are tipped to star in a new musical comedy, One Hit Wonders.
Glee may not be the essential viewing it once was, but we have a song in our hearts for creator Ryan Murphy’s next big project.
According to Deadline.com, Murphy has been tapped up by Sony Pictures to write a musical comedy called One Hit Wonders, which will star Gwyneth Paltrow, Cameron Diaz and Reese Witherspoon as three singers who each scored a hit song in the 90s before watching their careers go down the drain. They then decide to join forces and form a super-group in order to try and get back to their former glory days. Expect lots of ‘interesting’ 90s styling and references.
Although we’ve seen Gwyneth exercising her pipes on Glee and Reese putting in an Oscar-winning performance as June Carter in Walk The Line, we only recall Cameron doing karaoke in films (A Life Less Ordinary and My Best Friend’s Wedding), so it’ll be interesting to see her take to the mic.
Gwyneth’s BFF Beyoncé was also originally linked to the project, and though this has since been refuted, we think it would be inspired casting if she were to put in an appearance. Please Ryan make our musical dreams come true!
