Nicole Scherzinger gives perfect response to tactless questions on being child-free

Nicole Scherzinger was put in a very awkward position during a TV interview, in which the talk-show host implied she had “wasted” her best years by not having a baby with ex-boyfriend, Lewis Hamilton.

The ex-Pussycat doll and X Factor presenter appeared on The Wendy Williams Show last Wednesday to discuss her career but was instead probed about her past relationship.

The 37-year-old singer dated Formula One World Champion Lewis Hamilton on and off for seven years. The couple broke-up in February this year.

After a brief discussion about her career and her new panel show, host, Williams, made a series of inappropriate comments about Scherzinger’s age, saying:

“I was saying, truth, because you’re 37, this is a woman who spent seven years of her life breaking up and getting back together and… poor us, because they can have babies whenever they want.”

Before going on to imply that part of the shame of the couples break-up was Hamilton’s financial status, saying:

“Those are seven years you can never get back and he was really wealthy and I was rootin’ for ya girl.”

The singer laughed-off the questions, taking them in her stride and revealing that she has no regrets about her relationship.

However Williams, 51, and a mother, continued to press the issue, interrupting Scherzinger saying:

“They’re the good years down here”, while pointing to her uterus.

Throughout the interview, Scherzinger remained professional and did not seem bothered by the sexist line of questioning, saying:

“You know, everything happens for a reason. I’m a girl of faith and a strong believer, and seven years was a long time.”

The singer ended the interview by sharing a Buddhist quote she likes to live by:

“In the end, three things matter: How much you loved, how gently you lived - like how kind and gracious and compassionate you are and how gracefully you let go of the things not meant for you.”

We only wonder if Williams would have asked Lewis Hamilton the same questions...
