Cats are the new babies. At least in viral-worthy blog posts.
A man who "lives the single life of parties" is winning hearts with a touching and hilarious photo homage to his twin sister that replaces pictures of her kids with cats.
As an American living in Taiwan, Gordy Yates admits he usually ducks out of present-giving, while his thoughtful twin Meredith Tuttle, who is based in the US, never fails to send him a present on their birthday.
This year he decided to up his game and create a thoughtful picture series for his sis on their 28th birthday. The teacher selected 28 of his favourite snaps of his twin from her social media accounts, then painstakingly set about parodying them in an epic photoshoot.
When it came to the cute mother-baby pictures of Meredith, he used the next best thing to represent his niece and nephew - a cat.
His logic being, they're “basically the same.”
“They both like to eat off of and crawl on the floor, they both like to bite me, they’re both really small, they’re both really hard to control, and I can’t give birth to either of them,” he explains to Babble.
But he didn't have a cat either. Luckily, after asking around at a church, one brave family lent him their ginger cat, Sophie, who is seen swaddled in a pink towel, wearing a gingham bandana and crown a la his young niece.
The pictures, which also include baby/cat-free snaps of him hilariously attempting his sister's yoga poses, were posted on his blog and have certainly won him fans on the internet.
