Madonna has opened up about her now infamous BRIT Awards fall in a new interview with Ellen Degeneres.

In the candid chat on The Ellen Show, Madonna referred to the comments made by the cape's designer Giorgio Armani, who had branded her “difficult”, and said that it was “total bullsh*t”.

Originally the designer had told the Associated Press that “Madonna, as we know, is very difficult. This cape had a hook and she wanted a tie, and she wasn’t able to open it with her hands. That’s all there is to it."

However, Madonna conceded that it wasn't really anyone's fault.

“If anyone's going to take the blame, it's me because at the last minute the producers of the show asked me to enter the arena from a much further away distance, and everyone panicked because my cape was really heavy [and they didn't want it to fall off].”

The 56-year-old star went on to explain that usually a magnet would hold something like that cape in place but because it was so heavy they couldn't use magnets. To remedy the problem, Madonna said she tied the bow tighter.

But when she went to release the cape as part of the performance, she ended up tying the bow into a knot, rather than actually releasing it. And then when the fellow performers went to pull the cape off, she was then pulled down with it. 

She revealed that after she'd finished the performance she returned to her hotel room and cried, but not because she was hurt: 

“[I cried] from humiliation. Not because I was in pain, nothing hurt on me. That's the weirdest thing.”

She also talked about how she still hasn't watched the performance.

“I don't want to see any part of the performance because for the first 30 seconds I got back on the stage, I'm sure I was the angriest matador to walk the planet. The first thing that crossed my mind, ‘Oh my god, am I hurt?’, I was just like ‘Sh*t, I made a mistake, I want to start this again’. But I just kept going”.

Madonna was also recently interview by Jonathan Ross and spoke about her tumble: 

“It was a horrible nightmare because I like to be amazing. Seriously I rehearse and I rehearse and I rehearse so that when I do the show, it’s effortless and I create magic and I did the opposite. I actually created a horror show for everyone!”

Despite all this we still think she's a completely pro.
