Bad news for anyone who has ever fantasised about ditching their office job in favour of earning their keep from kissing famous actors: Joanna Lumley is here to burst your bubble.
The 71-year-old actor and Ab Fab star recently opened up about how much she dislikes filming scenes where she has to kiss actors because “it’s actually no fun… No fun at all”.
Even if that man is Leonardo DiCaprio, who Lumley starred alongside in 2013 hit film The Wolf of Wall Street.
“I did kiss Leonardo DiCaprio, about 15 times in fact,” Lumley said at a recent dinner for the Elizabeth’s Legacy of Hope charity, The Telegraph reports.
“But I'll let you into a secret. It's actually no fun kissing actors, no fun at all,” she said.
The actor said that kissing co-stars go to such lengths to keep their breath fresh between takes of filming, it kills any chance of an actual romantic moment.
“There are so many takes and you both have to chew so much chewing gum,” she revealed.
“It's like kissing someone in a dentist's waiting room.” Ouch.
Lumley, who played the English aunt of DiCaprio’s character’s wife in the film, kissed the actor during a scene where he tries to get her to conceal his money in Swiss bank accounts.

Despite Lumley’s recent comments, DiCaprio said at the time that she was “an incredibly beautiful, charming woman” who he loved flirting with.
Luckily, it’s not all bad news for those who still wish to jump on the acting/kissing bandwagon, because for every Joanna Lumley, there's a Diane Keaton.
Appearing on The Graham Norton Show last week, Keaton positively gushed about how much she loved kissing actors on-screen, stating that “it doesn’t get better than on-screen romance”.
“Think of all the men you get to kiss and you don’t pay the price,” she added.
“The relationship is perfect because you’re telling the story, you’re in the midst of the story… there’s nothing better than kissing a man in a movie.”
The star, who is also 71, then went on to prove her point by kissing both Norton and the show’s other celebrity guests, including a delighted Kevin Bacon and Jessica Chastain.
