“I do have an account I use for spying.” Kate Moss on her secret Instagram account and how she feels about selfies

While most of us spend our time on Instagram following the famous, eager to see what really goes on when A-list pals hang out together, we’d never expect them to be logging on for a stalk of their own…

But that’s exactly what supermodel Kate Moss admitted to doing in a recent interview with HELLO! Fashion magazine, despite claiming that she’s baffled by the whole social media thing, saying she “doesn’t have a relationship” with it at all.

Moss, 41, explained that while she’s not interested in looking at pictures of what people are eating or the beautiful weather they’re having, she is keen to keep up to date with what’s trending.

Moss said: "I do have an account I use for spying. I have to, otherwise I wouldn't know what anyone was talking about." Maybe she's not so different from us after all...

And despite being one of the most photographed women in the world, Moss says she’s doesn’t like turning the camera around on herself: “I don't know how to take a good selfie. I'm not good at them." We personally couldn’t imagine a universe in which Moss didn’t look good in a photograph.

The interview was conducted alongside friend and fellow model Cara Delevingne, and when the conversation turned to Snapchat, Moss was more than pleased than she one-upped Delevingne on knowledge of the picture and video sending app.

"My daughter [Lila, 13] is obsessed with Snapchat and now there are all these new filters with the tongue and everything. Have you seen it?" Moss told a baffled Delevingne, 23, rejoicing at knowing something she didn't.

"Oh yes! I know something you don't know! Oh my god! Oh my God!... So you haven't seen when you open your mouth and a rainbow comes out of your tongue? I'm young! I'm young! I'm young! That's made my day. I've got to say thank you to my teenager."

While Moss may dip and dive into the realms of Snapchat and Instagram, last year in The Times, she made it clear that Twitter was simply not her thing:

“I couldn't think of anything worse than people knowing what I'm doing all the time. I just don't understand it. I don't get it all. Why would anybody want to know? I try to be the opposite, so people don't know anything that I'm doing. I don't want people to know anything!" the model insisted.

And when talking of her secret Instagram account to Interview magazine in 2013 (and still nobody's been able to crack the code leading to her real handle name), Moss mentioned she only had 25 followers at the time. When the interviewer suggested sharing her username might earn her an extra follower or two, Moss asserted exactly why she's not going public in the social media realm:

"I don't really want anyone to know where I am. I don't want people to know what I'm doing. That's the complete opposite of what I feel like."

We guess she's got enough people following her around in real life, let alone in the cyber world, too.

If she's partial to an Instagram stalk, we're guessing she's got a secret Pinterest account too...
