Dirty martinis, ‘80s beats, all the love: here’s everything you need to know about Gwyneth Paltrow’s rustic fall wedding

Gwyneth Paltrow has revealed a look inside her autumn wedding to TV producer Brad Falchuk.

The Oscar-winning actor shared a photo of the September 29 ceremony on Instagram, branding it “the best day of our lives”.

The bride wore a backless Valentino Couture gown with floral lace detail for the alfresco bash, which took place in the seaside village of Amagansett on Long Island, New York.

Not much was known about the wedding until now, but along with her Instagram post, Paltrow obligingly provided more detail from the big weekend, along with nearly 50 photos, on her website Goop.

“Seventy guests descended on Amagansett to bear witness and raise a glass to GP and her groom, Brad Falchuk,” the blurb reads.

“The revelry started the night before with a rehearsal dinner, where wedding guests dined alfresco under a canopy of bistro lights. And for the big day: perfect weather, a superlative dinner, a dance party for the ages, and a dress that defies adjectives.

“Hours later, when the last guest went home and the last champagne flute was cleared away, the day ended as it began—with beauty, love, and two very happy people.”

The extra photos unveil a few nice behind-the-scene moments.

Paltrow’s close friend Cameron Diaz (above) was there doing her make-up alongside the bride before the ceremony.

And Paltrow’s teen daughter Apple and Falchuk’s daughter Isabella both wore matching white dresses by Monique Lhuillier to celebrate the occasion.

The newlyweds opted for a rustic outdoor theme, with a candlelit garden marquee and huge foliage chandeliers.

Guests were treated to dirty martinis, dry ribs and fall vegetables, followed by carrot, chocolate and vanilla cake (a mix of the bride and groom’s favourite flavours).

Paltrow swapped into a Stella McCartney jumpsuit for the evening festivities, or as she called it, consisting of “‘80s party jams”.

Other intimate photos from the day included Paltrow hugging her son Moses (who was also groomsman) after the vows, snaps of her childhood friends who stayed the course since high school, and the bride dancing cheek-to-cheek with her new husband.

As an extra bonus, Paltrow handily settled the surname debate for the couple, laying claim to the hashtag #thefaltrows.
