Gwyneth Paltrow has spoken out about her separation with Chris Martin saying she thinks the pair are “better off as friends.”
The actor and Goop founder ‘consciously uncoupled’ from her husband of 10 years – the Coldplay frontman – two years ago.
Making the comments to Marie Claire Australia, Paltrow, 43, says:
“I think we are better as friends than we are [married]. We are very close and supportive of one another.”
The pair are parents to two children; daughter, Apple, 11, and son, Moses, 10, and have continued to go on family holidays and outings.
The family are currently in South America supporting Coldplay’s latest tour and celebrating Moses’ birthday.
But the Iron Man star admits the process hasn’t been easy, saying:
“It hasn’t always been easy for us because you have good days and bad days as you do in life with anything, but I feel lucky because Chris has been willing to push himself for the sake of the kids and help me co-create this new family.”
Paltrow is currently dating TV producer Brad Falchuk and Martin has been linked to Jennifer Lawrence and Peaky Blinders actress Annabelle Wallis.
“It’s like we are still a family, but not a couple,” she says.
The actor admits that, although she is still dating, she is not intent on remarrying, saying:
“I think marriage is a really beautiful and noble institution, but it is not like I am holding a goal of getting remarried”
