The Fall star Gillian Anderson has recently opened up about how she's looking for a new relationship.

“I’m so lucky to have such great work. I’ve got a fantastic life, I have a wonderful relationship with my kids, and there’s nothing lacking, but I’m leaning towards the idea that it’s time for somebody to be brave enough to ask me out.”

However, there are still dating pitfalls, even for A-listers. In the interview with the Telegraph, she reveals that she recently meet a potential love interest but discovered -after a bit of research -  that he was married.

“To me, a married man is simply a No Go. I’m not interested in younger men either. I suppose I might ask a man out, but I believe at this stage of my life, it’s better not to manipulate the situation. If it happens, it happens. What I am sure about is that I want my next relationship to be The One."

The X-Files star, who revealed in 2012 that she had been in a relationship with a woman when she was younger, also said that she wouldn't rule out another relationship with a woman.

“I wouldn’t discount it. I did it before and I’m not closed to that idea. To me a relationship is about loving another human being; their gender is irrelevant.”

Fans of the critically acclaimed TV show The Fall, will also know that it stars Fifty Shades of Grey's Jamie Dornan.  However, she hasn't managed to see her co-star's big movie yet, explaining 'I’ve been too busy. I’m either filming or on planes or putting my sons to bed. I am very interested to see his – range.”

Earlier this year, the 46-year-old revealed how she and co-star David Duchovny hated each other on the set of The X-Files

“There were definitely periods when we hated each other. Hate is too strong a word. We didn’t talk for long periods of time. It was intense, and we were both pains in the arse for the other at various times.”

But despite all that, she admitted that they were now friends:

“I’m not going to get into it. I’m not even going to begin to get into that. But we are closer today than we ever have been.”

Gillian has been married twice before. Her first marriage was to Clyde Klotz in 1994, a former assistant art director on The X-Files, with whom she has a 21-year-old daughter, and who she divorced in 1997.

Her second marriage was to Julian Ozanne, a documentary filmmaker who she married in 2004 and divorced in 2006. She then had a relationship with long-term partner Mark Griffiths, with whom she has two young sons. She is currently single.

The actress has recently been nominated for an Olivier Award for her role as Blanche DuBois in A Streetcar Named Desire, and currently lives in London with her sons.
