You can already study Beyoncé at university, but now the woman herself is offering to pay to put women through college in the US.
To mark the one year anniversary of her game-changing visual album Lemonade, the singer has announced that she will help women to gain arts degrees at her choice of four US universities. Those chosen will be known as her Formation Scholars.
It’s part of her #BeyGOOD charity initiatives and an endorsement of her latest album’s female empowerment ethos.
An advert, explaining how to apply for the scheme on Beyoncé’s website reads: “Beyoncé Knowles-Carter announces the establishment of Formation Scholars awards for the 2017-2018 academic year, to encourage and support young women who are unafraid to think outside the box and are bold, creative, conscious and confident.
She will be supporting four female scholars who are “pursuing studies in creative arts, music, literature or African-American studies” at Berklee College of Music, Howard University, Parsons School of Design and Spelman College.
If you’re eligible to become one of Bey’s scholars, you can find more details directly via the universities websites.
