A new advert, aired for the first time during last night's Oscars ceremony, packed an emotional punch as it brought to life a blind little girl's vision of how children's favourite, The Wizard of Oz, looks to her.
In 'Emily's Oz', the amazingly creative young girl describes how she sees the famous characters in the much loved film. Understandably, they are a little different to the original version of the film.
Emily explains how her mind helps her develop the character "I think about the shape, I think about color, and I also think about sound, I take into my brain, and I think about what [the movie] would look like to me."
In another interview, Emily continues 'I'm unique because I can’t see anything. You pretty much have to take everything off memory or touch or hearing or smell or sound or taste. You can’t take anything off sight. It’s different because you can see the screen and what is happening.'
Emily's mum told People that her daughter has always had a wonderfully creative mind, explaining that when she was younger she created an imaginary friend world with different states each with their own geography, birds, animals and politics.
Emily outlines the inspiration and thought behind the characters in detail in the clip below.
She explains that the lion is the size of a Chihuahua or a Yorkie - as he doesn't have any courage - and he walks on webbed hands. Meanwhile the scarecrow has wooden head, legs and wood teeth with arms 'twice as long as my arms' which are tubes filled with squirting chemicals.
