Anne Hathaway has become engaged to her boyfriend of three years, fellow actor Adam Shulman.
A spokesperson for the Devil Wears Prada star confirmed the happy news but would not give further details.
Speculation began after Anne, 29, was spotted in New York over the weekend wearing a ring on her engagement finger (above, second photo).
She and Adam have been dating since November 2008, with the actress hinting at the possibility of marriage in an interview in August.
"I was at my best friend's wedding just two days ago, and I watched this person who I love like a sister, and who has changed my life and continues to change my life for the better, who I feel as close to as I do my family, commit herself to a man who she loves, and I watched how happy it made her," she said. "I mean, she looked like she was riding a bubble the whole night. I thought, 'Weddings are important because they celebrate life and possibility.'"
She also told People magazine that she was "very much in love" with Adam, 30, who appeared in 2007 movie The Dukes of Hazzard: The Beginning.
"Adam totally ruined my plan. I was really actually looking forward to a little alone time, and then I fell in love like a fool," she said.
Anne's previous relationship with real estate developer Raffaello Follieri ended in 2008, after he was convicted of fraud and money laundering, and sentenced to four-and-a-half years in jail.
The actress is currently working on 2012 drama musical Les Misérables, in the role of Fantine.
