Amy Schumer has revealed that Adele convinced her to plan her wedding to Chris Fischer…

Earlier this year, Amy Schumer revealed – much to the astonishment of her fans – that she and Chris Fisher had tied the knot after just a few months of dating.

And now, in a new interview with Sirius XM, the actress has confirmed that, somewhat surprisingly, it was Adele who convinced Schumer that there is no ‘right time’ to get married.

“I was staying in L.A. at a house near Jennifer Lawrence, who lives right by Adele, and they’re really good friends and I’d never met her before,” said Schumer.

“We hung out a little bit that week, and then we were just real drunk one night, and [Chris and I] were talking about how we wanted to get married, and Adele was like, ‘Well, I can marry you.’ And we were like, ‘OK, cool.’ We were making a whole plan… and then the next day, she was like, ‘Hey, we’re not really, like, friends.”

Schumer went on to explain that Adele had gotten ordained to marry some good friends and was worried it might upset their plans if she charged ahead with Schumer’s ceremony.

“She got ordained to marry her good friend, so I think she was like, ‘They’ll be annoyed if I just start marrying random basic b***hes.’

“So, then we were like, ‘Should we still get married on Tuesday?’ and decided, ‘Yeah, who cares, let’s do it, so there’s no drama. No planning.’”

The I Feel Pretty star added: “When you see your friend go through planning a wedding, it just seems like it sucks, so I just texted people.”

Of course, Adele did go on to officiate at the other wedding – which was recently revealed to be that of Alan Carr and Paul Drayton.

Taking to Instagram to share a photo of herself dressed up in white robes for the occasion, the Someone Like You singer wrote: “Seeing as the cats out the bag. I married two of my best friends in January. You know me any excuse to dress up…”

Carr later confirmed that his pal (whom he first met back at the 2008 Brit Awards) hadn’t just officiated on his big day – she also hosted the event at her house and sang during the all-important first dance.

“It was lovely. I just want to tell everyone. She won’t say because she’s so private. Flowers, three-course meal, she just planned it all. It was the best day of our life,” Carr explained.

“I can never repay her, she’s a one-off as we all know.”
