Adele won two major gongs at the Q magazine awards in London last night (24 October), but ill health prevented her from collecting them in person.
The 23-year-old star won best female artist and best track for Rolling in the Deep - ahead of her hit Someone Like You, which was also nominated.
The victory marks the culmination of a hugely successful year for Adele, whose second album 21 won massive critical acclaim on release in January, with 3 million copies sold to date.
It comes two weeks after the singer was forced to cancel her US tour due to problems with her throat. Last night, her producer Paul Epworth, picked up the awards.
Other winners at the ceremony included Noel Gallagher, who scooped the Q Icon award and Jessie J, who was presented with best video for Do It Like a Dude (above, second photo).
Appearing on the red carpet, singer Bono hailed the significance of the Q awards. "It's a truly great thing," he said. "They're so important for anyone that wants to take all their music all the way."
