Adele is fiercely private when it comes to her family; in fact, she only recently confirmed that she had tied the knot with Simon Konecki – and she did it so subtly that almost hardly anybody noticed.

However, in a rare interview, the 28-year-old singer has opened up about her relationship with her four-year-old son, Angelo. And, in particular, she has pointed out that she’s been working hard to raise her little boy to be a true feminist, through and through.

 “I’m raising him to respect women,” she explained to OK! magazine.

When asked to expand further on how she is teaching her son to adopt a #girlpower mindset, Adele’s answer was simple; she’s letting Angelo see his mum for the empowered woman she truly is.

“He knows I’m a powerful force,” she said.

“He feels it at home, let alone when he comes to work with me. And he comes everywhere with me anyway!”

Adele, who broke records with her sweep of trophies at the 2017 Grammy Awards, recently revealed that she plans to have another child with Konecki.

Speaking from the stage of a concert in Phoenix, Arizona, she told her fans: “I’ll see you later, I’ll see you on the other side. In a couple of years when I’ll be back, you won’t be able to get rid of me.”

She added: “I’m going to go and have another baby.”

Adele previously said that she was “too scared” to get pregnant again after suffering from “really bad postpartum depression” the first time around.

Speaking in Vanity Fair, she continued: “I think it’s the bravest thing not to have a child; all my friends and I felt pressurised into having kids, because that’s what adults do.

“I love my son more than anything, but on a daily basis, if I have a minute or two, I wish I could do whatever the f**k I wanted, whenever I want. Every single day I feel like that.”

And, at the Grammys, she touched upon these feelings during her acceptance speech, revealing: “And in my pregnancy and through becoming a mother I lost a lot of myself.

“And I’ve struggled, and I still do struggle being a mum. It’s really hard. But tonight winning this kind of feels full-circle, and like a bit of me has come back to myself.”

However it seems as if Adele may have changed her mind about expanding her family during the course of her world tour.

When she performed at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena in October, she told crowds gathered to see her: “My son is about to turn four very, very soon. I’m starting to get very emotional about it because I feel like once they turn four, they're not really your actual baby anymore. So, my womb is starting to ache a little bit. It's like, 'Baby, baby, baby. Need a baby, need a baby.’”

Ever aware of her responsibility to her fans, however, Adele added: “I’m not pregnant. I won't get pregnant until the end of the tour.”

The award-winning singer will continue on her live tour until March, ending in Auckland; scheduled in support of her third album, 25, the world tour marks the first time she has done so in four years.

Yet, while there’s no question that the Chasing Pavements star has enjoyed her time on the road, Adele has stressed in no uncertain terms that she will always put her family above her career.

“All of my relationships are more important to me than any tour I'll ever do. If my relationship with Simon or my relationship with Angelo started to flounder a bit now, I would pull out of my tour," she said.

“My life is more important to me than anything I'm doing because how the f**k am I supposed to write a record if I don't have a life? If I don't have a real life, then it's game over anyway.”
