Watch Emilia Clarke and Peter Dinklage lose their cool in new Game of Thrones blooper reel
9 years ago
If you’re anything like us, you’re no doubt obsessed with HBO’s Game of Thrones.
But, now that season 6 is over, we’ve got a very long time to wait until we find out what Daenerys (Emilia Clarke), Tyrion (Peter Dinklage), Cersei (Lena Headey), Sansa (Sophie Turner), Jon Snow (Kit Harington), and co are going to do now that winter has finally come to Westeros.
That’s right; the season 7 premiere of the award-winning drama has been delayed until next summer 2017, as opposed to its usual April release date.
Executive producer David Benioff explained the reasoning behind this less-than-popular schedule change at Comic Con 2016.
He said: “Winter is here. We’re shooting in places where there are trees. We have to wait until the leaves fall off to shoot scenes as winter.”
This means that production won’t finish until February, for a season that will have seven episodes as opposed to the usual 10.
Which is fair enough, we guess – although, considering they can make a life-life dragon appear on screen, it seems incredulous to believe that the special effects team can’t edit the leaves off the trees.
Anyway, in a bid to sting the blow of a delayed and shorter series of Game of Thrones, producers have decided to treat fans to a very special – and hilarious – look behind-the-scenes of season 6.
Oh yes, it’s a blooper reel.
In the footage, we get to see what happens when Daenerys forget how to speak Dothraki, a seemingly dead Jon Snow desperately covers up his ‘special’ sword, and the usually-eloquent Tyrion Lannister stumbles over one very irksome word.
Game of Thrones Season 6: The blooper reel
The video was released shortly after Sophie Turner opened up about her predictions for Sansa Stark’s story arc in the upcoming season 7.
Tellingly, the young actress admitted she believes that her character will tread a very dark path following her revenge on sadistic abuser Ramsay Bolton (Iwan Rheon).
More unnervingly, she also hinted that Sansa – despite helping her half-brother lead the battle to retake Winterfell – is likely to betray Jon Snow, the new King in the North.
“I’m not sure Sansa believes Jon is capable of running Winterfell in the North,” she said.
“He doesn’t have the intellect, the knowledge, the experience that she has.
"[And] I concur.”
The seventh season of Game of Thrones will premiere in summer 2017.
