We've had hipster Disney princesses, 'real life' Disney princesses and Disney Princesses without make-up. 

Then of course there was princesses imagined with larger waistlines and as pin-up dolls. Oh and how could we forget about street fighter Disney princesses?

Let's just say, re-imaginings of those iconic female cartoon characters is the gift the internet keeps on giving.

But, for two writers at quarterly food journal Lucky Peach it's growing a little tiresome. 

So in true mash-up fashion, they decided to imagine Rapunzel, Ariel, Belle and Pocahontas in the most ridiculous way - as hot dogs. 

“For better or worse, over the past few years the Internet has found itself compulsively reinventing Disney princesses to questionable ends,” writes Anna Hezel and Gabriella Paiella.

“With that in mind, we put our heads together and thought about what kinds of Disney princesses would inspire us the most. And obviously we thought of hot dogs. Disney has never created a princess who was a hot dog (dumb, in our opinion). Imagine if all of their princesses were hot dogs. So inspiring. Wow.”

The duo even listed out instructions of how to create the figurative hot dogs at home using cheese, onion layers and romaine lettuce leaves to create the costumes and various sauces to create the face features. 

“We can’t stress enough how inspiring it was to see the Disney princesses as hot dogs,” the pair added. 

“It was incredible to imagine these hot dogs doing all of the great passive things that the original princesses did, like looking nice, singing beautiful songs, marrying princes (hot dog wedding!)”
