The Social Petwork

In completely normal news, a social network, sorry 'petwork', has been launched exclusively for animals and their owners.

The site, which launched in France last year, has just arrived in the UK and unlike other social media sites, YummyPets (yes, that's the actual name) has been developed for those who love animals.

Users can inter(cat) with other profiles, as well as being able to access a range of useful and targeted pet services.

Oh, and here's a "quote" from Leo the cat, who is the "founder" of Yummy Pets: “YummyPets was originally created in France, where there are currently over 150,000 members with 500 pets joining every day. We also have more than 600 brands and organisations interacting on the site. I thought that the great pets of Great Britain should have the chance to join the social media world and interact as part of a community that knows them best.”

However, if your pet can't quite work a computer, you can use the site too, even if you're the owner of a menagerie, as human users can have multiple profiles for their different animals. You can then share photos, post videos and status updates about your pet, while trading advice with other owners on the site.

There are also various other services that look quite useful, such as missing notices, vet appointment reminder and price comparisons on pet supplies.
