Coachella's best bits: from Beyoncé performing with Solange to Leo rocking out

Coachella is one of the most popular and star-studded music festivals in the US (think Glastonbury but with more sun and much less mud).

The event, which started in 1999, takes place over two weekends, and previous acts include Red Hot Chili Peppers, Beastie Boys, Florence and the Machine, and Snoop Dogg, to name a few.

2014's line-up promised to be a pretty special year, with Muse, OutKast and Arcade Fire all billed as the headliners. And, as with every other year, guests were treated to a lot of surprise performances and impromptu appearances (which is one of the best reasons to attend it, we reckon).

This time the likes of Jay Z, Gwen Stefani and Beyoncé (SCREAM!) all popped up where they weren't expected. So, with this in mind we've taken a look at some of the coolest things to happen at Coachella so far. If you weren't there, prepare to feel very jealous indeed.

Beyoncé and Solange dance together

Just when we thought a Tupac hologram couldn't be beaten, Beyoncé joined little sister Solange on stage for a dance routine. That's right, she didn't even need to sing and she brought the house down.

Gwen Stefani sings Hollaback Girl with Pharrell Williams

Gwen might have just had a kid (six weeks' ago, no less), but that didn't stop her from getting up and singing one of our all-time favourite songs Hollaback Girl.

Leonardo DiCaprio rocking out in the crowd?

OK, this one's not 100% confirmed and granted it's the back of Leo's head (if it really is him), but this video shows a chap looking remarkably like the Wolf of Wall Street actor doing a little jig to MGMT's Kids.

Justin Bieber's surprise performance

Just so you know, we're not Beliebers or anything but this video of the singer dancing after performing his track Confident with Chance the Rapper might change our minds.

Jay-Z and Nas perform together

Over on another stage, Bey's husband Jay Z decided to join former rap rival Nas and sing a rendition of Dead Presidents II. Also, can we just take a look at Jay Z's hat. Cute.
