Why The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel will dominate your small screens this winter – again

The trailer for season two of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel has finally arrived.

Mark your calendars because she’s back.

After scooping eight wins at last month’s Emmys, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel will take over our small screens once again this winter as it’s set to premiere on 5 December.

In the newly dropped trailer for season two, it’s clear to see that Midge (Rachel Brosnahan) is hell-bent on really giving her comedy career a go: “I want to be big,” she vows, “The biggest thing out there.”

Set to Barbara Streisand’s ‘I’m the greatest girl’ from Funny Girl, the second season picks up one year after Midge’s husband left her and she began performing stand-up comedy sets of her own.

And if the trailer’s anything to go by, fans of the show can expect more laughs, more incredible outfits and some seriously addictive TV.

With Midge delivering one-liners like: “Men in general run around telling everyone only men are funny. Comedy is fuelled by disappointment and humiliation, now who the hell does that describe more than women?!”

And you can expect to see Midge and Susie (Midge’s manager) keeping up with their old antics.

“You smell that?” Midge asks, in the trailer.

“It smells like cheap beer and piss,” Susie says.

“I know. Exciting, right?” Midge cheerily replies.

Just from the tunnel scene, you can see why it’s already been renewed for a third season.

“We’re going to die in this tunnel,” Midge says to Susie.

“Good. Something to look forward to,” Susie replies.
