We all know money doesn't always bring happiness, but when someone mentions their salary our ears perk up.
Today the Office for National Statistics released its annual Survey of Hours and Earnings for the year, highlighting the 10 jobs that pull in the biggest salaries.
While brokers and financial advisers were little surprise, marketing directors took the number three spot rising up four places since last year's list.
Aircraft pilots and medical practitioners dropped by a few places (the former was the highest paid job last year), though they are still considered one of the best paid jobs in the country.
The occupations that didn't make the top 10 list this year but were in 2014's, include senior police officers and senior professionals of educational establishments.
Overall, Britons enjoyed a 1.9% rise in earnings (after inflation) the ONS said earlier this month. However that is nowhere near the 3.5%-4% level expected by the Bank of England.
