When Stranger Things first hit Netflix, we – like so many others – binged on the 80s sci-fi drama, greedily watching all eight episodes in a matter of days.

It was a decision that would later come back to haunt many of us, as once we’d viewed them all, that was it. The show was over – and we’d have to wait over a year to have all those loose ends tied up for us (don't read on if you somehow haven't watched them all).

While there are plenty of strong, interesting characters in the show, one rather unexpectedly stood out, despite only appearing in a handful of episodes: Barbara ‘Barb’ Holland.

She may have had minimal screen time, but her emotional maturity, staunch loyalty, and incredible retro fashion sense touched a chord with viewers. Now, in news to delight her many supporters, Netflix have released a new clip (which you can watch below) featuring the teen.

In the first series, we saw Shannon Purser’s character unceremoniously killed off, leaving us, naturally, upset.

However it was the town’s reaction to her disappearance (i.e. no reaction at all) that really left us heartbroken. Cue the hashtag #JusticeforBarb popping up all over Twitter – and demands for a fitting tribute to the beloved character in the second season of the Netflix show.

It seems as if Netflix are on board with the trend, as they recently released a new video about everyone's favourite put-upon best pal.

Featuring a fictional 1980s newscast, titled Minute By Minute With Brenda Wood, the show covers the ongoing search for the missing teen.

However it’s safe to say that it’s more than a little tongue-in cheek…

Also mentioned in the newscast is a search for a little girl – we know her as Eleven (Millie Brown) – who robbed the Bradley's Big Buy market, making off with a load of Eggo waffles.

Meanwhile David Harbour (aka Detective Jim Hopper) recently revealed that the Stranger Things writers have taken notice of the public’s demand for Barb’s fate to be properly resolved.

Speaking at New York Comic Con, he said: “We will tell you that we do deal with the loose ends in season two, and we do deal with some of the internet rage over Barbs' death.

“We will have justice for Barb's death in some sense.”

However, for all those hoping that Barb may somehow be resurrected from her gruesome Upside Down grave, we have bad news for you.

“I can assure you Barb is very much dead,” Harbour confirmed.
