Last October, Stylist’s deputy digital editor experienced sleepless nights and panic. Quitting social media wasn’t due to personal insecurities or the usual compare-and-despair, it was more down to a shocking rise in the misinformation and intolerance that she was seeing online. Now faced with rejoining social media after a nine-month break, she reflects on how it all got so bad and what needs to change online to make discussions more positive and peaceful.
