Bringing together the two women responsible for bringing to life iconic female characters of the Nineties, Renée Zellweger has been announced as one of the names joining Sarah Jessica Parker on set for new romantic drama Best Day of My Life.
The film, which has started shooting in New York, tells the story of Vivienne (Parker), a jazz singer in the city who has been handed a life-changing diagnosis as she prepares for a world tour.
Written by House of Cards’ Laura Eason, the film focuses on the 24-hour window following the news, and will also star Isabella Rossellini and Taylor Kinney in supporting roles.
Parker, known best as Sex and the City’s Carrie Bradshaw, has already posted a picture from the set revealing a lighter blonde bob for the role, and will produce as well as star.
Alongside Rossellini, Kinney and Bridget Jones’ Zellweger, AMBI Group also announced hip hop star and actor Common, Simon Baker (The Devil Wears Prada) and Gus Birney (The Mist), though did not elaborate on each role.
