It’s true, we all love a special treat or a big gesture once in a while. But when it comes to the things which truly make you happy, it’s life’s little pleasures which really count. So we’ve decided to celebrate them in a new podcast, Little Pleasures. In association with Galaxy®, and hosted by Stylist’s deputy editor, Susan Riley, Little Pleasures explores those small yet satisfying things which make everyday life that bit better.

In the third episode of Little Pleasures, Susan chats to award-winning author Nina Stibbe, best known for her epistolary novel Love, Nina. Following on from her first three funny books, Nina has now released An Almost Perfect Christmas, which brings together a collection of essays and stories celebrating Nina’s favourite family traditions.

True to form, Nina’s pleasures are rather touching and with a hint of humour. From fresh, crisp sheets, beneath which she can jiggle her feet, to her dog, Peggy (although not when Peggy ruins said sheets), Nina’s list of life’s pleasures won’t fail to bring a smile to your face. In the latest episode, hear her talk about mastering the art of reversing and the ‘reciprocal enquiry’ and why the salad spinner is the best gadget in the kitchen.
