There’s nothing quite like popping open an ice cold bottle of rosé on a summer’s evening, especially when it’s one of the best wines in the world, and especially when it’s only set you back a mere £5.99.
Yep, you heard us right.
Aldi’s Exquisite Collection Côtes De Provence 2016 has scooped the silver medal at the 2017 International Wine Challenge, i.e. the Oscars of the wine industry.
Boasting notes of “delicate strawberry and white fruit aromas” with “a subtle quartzy spice” it’s claimed to be the perfect partner for grilled fish and salads.
And if rosé isn’t your tipple of choice, fear not. Aldi offers six other award-winning bottles in their range so you can stock up for all of your summer gatherings without breaking the bank.
‘We have been working closely with renowned winemaker Jean Claude Mas to change perceptions around French wine, which is often perceived as expensive and intimidating, so it is fantastic to see some of these products acknowledged as some of the best in the world,’ said Tony Baines, Joint Managing Director of Corporate Buying.
