Whether you’re a fully-fledged vegan, a lifelong veggie or merely curious about a new way of life, we‘ve rounded up the best of the UK’s vegan events to see you through to the end of the year.
Mark your calendars, plant-based friends, as veganism is taking over the streets of the UK with a series of food and drink festivals and celebrations. From alfresco summer affairs to a vegan take on Oktoberfest, you can expect an array of green-thinking indulgence – and something for every tastebud, too.
2 - 31 August: V For Festival, London
Kicking off on 2nd August with ‘Vegan Nights’ which promises the “best of the UK’s vegan scene with a party vibe”, this month-long extravaganza based at The Old Truman Brewery in London’s Shoreditch aims to promote a conscious way of living among vegans, vegetarians, and “curious individuals” alike with workshops, demonstrations, shopping, parties and more. What‘s more, Brick Lane Food Hall will be offering only vegetarian and vegan food on the weekend of 4-5 August, while local restaurants and bars will be offering special vegan menus for the duration of the month.

29 - 30 September: Brighton Viva! Vegan Festival, Brighton
Since 1994, Viva! have been helping people to reduce their meat, fish, dairy and egg intake and move towards a kind, compassionate, healthy diet. There will be 100 food stalls offering hot and cold food, in addition to opportunity to gain free nutritional advice, attend demonstrations and shop for ethical gifts, clothing and cosmetics.

6 October: Vegtoberfest, London
Putting a vegan spin on traditional Oktoberfest activities, the Bavarian themed event will offer vegan-friendly craft ales, wines and cocktails ready to wash down a delicious vegan bratwurst. And, if that’s not enough to float your boat, there will also be a range of vegan street food and wood-fired pizza all served up on the roof garden with views over Camden. You can even gather a few pals and book one of the venue’s Party Stables for your own slice of the action.

10 - 11 November: Glasgow Vegan Festival, Glasgow
One of the largest animal friendly festivals in the UK, which partners with animal welfare and education charity Miracle’s Mission, this roaming festival offers events across the country over the course of the year. Alongside the food stalls with cuisine from around the world, there will be live music, inspirational talks, live cookery demonstrations, workshops and children’s activities.

17 November: Winterfest Vegan Masquerade Ball, Leeds
Making its debut this year, the ball offers a night of revelry with the added bonus of doing a little good for the world. Tickets include a three course vegan and palm oil free meal, live entertainment, raffle, awards ceremony for best dressed etc, and a dance, and it is run exclusively by volunteers in in aid of animal welfare and education charity Miracle’s Mission.

17 - 18 November: Manchester Vegan Christmas market, Manchester
Being vegan no longer means missing out on all the usual Christmas fare and festivites, as this seasonal market sets out to prove. With over 80 stalls, cookery demos, inspirational talks, interactive workshops, yoga and children’s activities running throughout the day, there’ll be plenty to get stuck in to.
