Coeliac disease, a serious and lifelong intolerance to gluten, affects one in 100 people in the UK. That’s one in 100 people for whom eating out and cooking can sometimes be challenging, given that gluten is found in all kinds of food and drink – ranging from pasta, bread, pastries and noodles to beer and even some milkshakes.
Fortunately, food producers and restaurants in the UK have long caught up with the demand for gluten-free snacks and ingredients. Here, we’ve rounded up our favourite foods on the gluten-free market, including the best gluten-free bread, cakes, flour, soya sauce and snacks. So if you’re coeliac, you never have to feel like you’re missing out again.
