A magical Harry Potter-themed afternoon tea has arrived in the UK

Bertie Bott’s Every Flavour Beans, Chocolate Frogs, Pumpkin Pasties, Cauldron Cakes and Liquorice Wands: ever since Harry Potter first clapped his eyes on the trolley trundling through the Hogwarts Express, we’ve craved every last one of these scrumptious-sounding treats.

Which is why we’re truly excited by the news of a Harry Potter-themed afternoon tea launching in the UK.

It’s been 20 years since Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone – the book that launched JK Rowling’s hugely successful wizarding series – came into our lives, like magic, and what better way to celebrate it than through indulging in delicious delights?

For a limited time only – throughout October and November – the Brasserie of Witchcraft and Wizardry Harry Potter tea will be served at Colwick Hall in Nottingham. Which, we suppose, is kind of like the Great Hall.

There’s plenty to get stuck into: think Philosopher’s Scones (served with clotted cream and raspberry jam, of course), Slytherin’s finger sandwiches, Polyjuice pea and mint soup and cheese wands, to name just a few.

All in all, it sounds like a feast fit for any Quidditch team.

Better still, the sweet treats sound like something straight off the food trolly on the Hogwarts Express. There are Golden Snitch Pop Cakes and Butterbeer Caramel Cheesecakes – not to mention a Chocolate Frog Cupcake, too.

While you may expect to wash all of that down with a foaming tankard of Butterbeer (or, failing that, a glass of iced pumpkin juice), you’d be sorely mistaken: the clever folks in charge of this afternoon tea have found something even more magical for you to guzzle.

That’s right: Professor Snape’s potions are the star of the show at this feast, which means you can finally taste Felix Felicis, Polyjuice, Draught of Living Death and Elixir of Life, if you so wish.

Can we have two Pumpkin Pasties, please?

Tickets prices vary between days: from Monday to Wednesday, £30 for two tickets, and from Thursday to Sunday, £23.95 per person. Tickets are priced at £13.50 for children under 11-years-old, and infants under the age of two can join in the fun free of charge.

You can make a reservation here.
