Hold on to your hats: black goth ice cream is finally here, and it’s everything you dreamed of.

The perfect antidote to the unicorn trend that has been stomping all over our Instagram feeds, goth ice cream is unapologetically dark and furious.

It even manages to make sprinkles and jaunty coconut shavings look ironic.

Created by Little Damage, a hipster ice cream shop in LA that specialises in soft scoop ice cream, the black ice cream is unsurprisingly taking over Instagram, and has proved so popular that the shop completely sold out yesterday.

And if reports are anything to go by, the black ice cream – which is “almond charcoal” flavoured – tastes as good as it looks.

“This is the real deal,” wrote one Instagram user.

“This is as dark as my soul and as good as my intentions,” added another.

There’s no news on whether goth ice cream will be arriving on this side of the pond anytime soon, but we’ve got our fingers crossed that someone in the UK will get creative in time for the summer.
