Badass teen takes her Harvard acceptance letter to prom as her date

We’ve seen the American high school movies and TV shows, and we’re well aware of the score: prom, when you’re a high school student, is a big deal. And, as all of those insane internet promposals have proven, finding a date for the dance is an even bigger deal.

However, when 17-year-old Priscilla Samey wasn’t asked to prom, she wasn’t bothered. At all.

Instead, the high school senior – who recently accepted an offer to attend Harvard – decided to take along one of her seven Ivy League University acceptance letters (yup, she was also offered places at Yale, Princeton, University of Pennsylvania, Cornell, Columbia, and Brown) as her date.

Tweeting a photo of herself with her #Harvard2021 hunk, Samey wrote: “Couldn’t find a man to accept me for prom, so I took a college that did.”

Talk about slaying it, eh?

The post has since been liked over 125,000 times, and retweeted into an incredible 28,676 people’s timelines.

And it’s safe to say that a lot of people have been left feeling inspired by Samey’s post.

Samey, in an interview with Mic, explained that she plans to major in political science with a pre-law track, and then get a law degree and one in business administration so she can go into business law.

“The best date is all your college admissions,” she said, before adding that her classmates had been incredibly supportive of her accomplishments.

“They all thought it was so funny and cute,” said Samey. “I didn't get any negative feedback like I thought I would and they all were very proud and supportive.”

Samey went on to share some advice for teens applying to college. “Be true to yourself,” she said. “There’s a lot of pressure nowadays that there’s a ‘type’ colleges want.

“Stick to your roots, and write essays that reflect who you are as a person.”
