The folks at Pixar have spent two decades learning how best to tug on our heartstrings, from 1995's Toy Story, via Finding Nemo, WALL-E and Up, to this year's phenomenally popular Inside Out.

Now the animation giant has taken that expertise in emotional manipulation and condensed it into a trailer, which you can watch below, celebrating 20 years of big-screen friendships and promoting Pixar's upcoming film The Good Dinosaur, out in November.

“20 years ago, Pixar showed us that we always have a friend, no matter how small or unlikely or different,” the video begins, predictably giving everyone with a heart not made of stone a little shiver.

Of course, the clip is lovely and heartwarming and all, but we're still coming to terms with the real story here – Toy Story was first out in 1995? Excuse us while we take a moment.
