Could the pillow manifestation method make your dreams come true?

A pen, paper and a pillow – the three things you need for your dreams to come true, apparently.

How do you manifest? Is it with a journal? Via meditation? Vision boards? Sacrificing yourself during a full moon?

Whatever the method, manifesting is becoming common practice. Essentially, manifestation is the belief that you can bring something tangible into your life through attraction and faith. In bygone years it was viewed as a ‘woo-woo practice’, something only observed by hippies in tents and around bonfires.

However, thanks to the likes of Roxie Nafousi (author of Manifest: 7 Steps To Living Your Best Life) and a host of manifestation influencers on TikTok, the law of attraction is mainstream and is very much considered a chic activity in which to partake.

As it has grown in popularity, the methods with which you can create your best life have increased in quantity too. And the latest way to achieve your dreams is right before you sleep.

The pillow manifestation technique has been popular on the spiritual corners of TikTok for quite some time now. Back in July 2022, creator Valeria Romero (@valeriafune) went viral after sharing her experience of how the technique helped her. Romero explained that for it to work, your body and mind must be “relaxed”.

“You can meditate before if you like,” she advised viewers. “So you are relaxed and in a very high vibration as well and feeling worthy of what you are trying to desire.” Romero added that she used the method every night for a week to help manifest an A grade in a test. Thanks to some hard grafting and grateful words, she went on to achieve it.

Once you are in a truly relaxed state in bed, you write down your desires on a piece of paper. Always frame these wants in the present tense as if you already have them in your life, and then express your gratitude. “I got an A on my exam, and I’m so thankful and happy for it,” was the line Romero used in her manifestation.

Then Romero recommends writing out the same sentence “either three or six times”.  Fold the paper underneath your pillow, lay down, and recite the affirmation. This step allows you to physically feel the gratitude and vibrations of your manifestation as you gently fall asleep.

The method can be used to manifest almost anything into your life, whether that be finances, a new job or a relationship. Remember the key is to repeat the steps each night until you form a habit and the desire becomes your reality.

And it seems the trick is popular. On TikTok, the hashtag #PillowMethod has over 51.1 million views and counting.

However, it is important to remember that all your dreams won’t come true by just writing them down on a piece of paper. You need to put in the work. While manifesting an A did work in some ways for Romero, her top grade more than likely came from weeks of studying.

Yet, the perseverance required to reach her aim was potentially aided by writing her ultimate goals down on paper. Writing helps gain clarity on what you want to accomplish and provides an added pinch of motivation that helps you to fully focus on the priorities at hand.

Meanwhile, reaching a good state of mind before you fall asleep can greatly enhance your rest and can rejuvenate the mind and the body. Our brains can race at bedtime, but engaging in an activity like the pillow method can ease distractions. Why? Well, because scribbling those goals on a piece of paper is like journaling, which has been shown to improve mental health. This means that even if you don’t believe in manifesting, at least your brain will be quiet and your sleep will improve. In our opinion, that’s a win-win.

So tonight, before you fall into dreams, get a pen, paper and a pillow and who knows – maybe all your desires will come to fruition. Or you’ll just get your full eight hours of sleep, at least.
